IN A NUTSHELL
People often ask what sets me apart from the other event DJs out there. It's real simple. I listen to my clients' needs and deliver what they want. I have built my reputation on providing quality, versatility, reliability, professionalism and excellence at gigs. My aim is to transcend convention and to work closely with my discerning clientele to elevate their event to the next level.
I specialize in large events, weddings, destination weddings and private & corporate events throughout New England. There isn't a crowd I can't read or a dance floor I can't rock. I am organized and pay close attention to detail. My ability to facilitate all transitions in a smooth manner and to keep the party on schedule while maintaining a relaxed, stress-free flow for my clients is another strength of mine. I have a Masters degree in public speaking but I'm not in love with my own voice. On the contrary, I am light on the microphone and mainly use it as a tool during announcements and introductions and to facilitate transitions.
If you are looking for a DJ to play line dances and teach people how to dance them, I'm not your guy. If, however, you are looking for someone who is kind-hearted and easy to work with, someone who is a breath of fresh air to those corny DJs who make it all about themselves, then I just might be your man. There is no cheese here!
A LITTLE MORE ABOUT ME
When I was just a kid I used to drag my nine brothers and sisters into my bedroom (I was the second youngest of ten) and force them to listen to the latest cuts from some of my favorite bands. I couldn't help myself. I just had to share those songs with them whether they liked it or not. They were my first audience. I was hooked. A DJ was born.
Through the years my love for music became an obsession. And then in 2003, I increased my turntables from one to two, threw a mixer in the middle, and started rocking out, um, well, my bedroom. Truth be known, I actually had no idea what I was doing. This DJ thing was a lot harder than it looked! This hard fact led me to study at Boston's DJ Mix Academy under one of the best club DJs in Boston, Paul Daily. Over time I began to master the craft of mixing (or blending) songs, one into the next. And that led to the club gigs (thank you Paul!). I decided that spinning tunes professionally is what I desired and that's when I started spinning at large events, parties, weddings and destination weddings.
Over the past ten years, I've grown to become arguably one of Northern New England's most sought after event and high-end wedding DJs. How? I actively listen to my clients, find out what their needs and wants are and deliver just that. There isn't a dance floor I can't pack or a crowd I can't read. You bring the people and I'll rock the party, guaranteed! I'm professional, non-cheesy, organized, easy-going and a good communicator. I also have a Masters degree in public speaking, a skill that comes in handy as an emcee. I consider my client's vendors (photographer, videographer, caterer, and wedding or event coordinator) a part of my team. Each vendor receives a typed schedule from me to ensure that we are all on the same page. My goal is for the flow of the event to be smooth as silk. You and your guests can just sit back and enjoy each others' company and then dance your hearts out without having to worry about a thing. I mean that.
For those brides who live outside of New England (or far away from my studio in Eliot, Maine, just outside Portsmouth, NH) but are having their wedding reception in New Hampshire, Maine, Massachusetts, Rhode Island or Vermont, I hope you’ll give me a shout to say hello. Maybe we can meet face to face on Skype or in person if you happen to be in town. I hope you’ll take a moment to see what my clients think of me as a person and as an entertainer. Click here for the buzz.
Jeff
P.S. When I'm not spinning tunes I just might be out seeing the world on my adventure motorcycle or jamming with some kids as a visiting artist at schools throughout New England. Think STOMP meets Blue Man Group and then click here if your are interested in learning more about Trashcan Lid Productions and my program Junk 2 Funk or my newest bully-prevention/pro-kindness program, Sticks and Stones.
